Jürgen Klopp, returning to coaching, gave an emotional promise

J. Klopp will take over the national team from Julian Nagelsmann, whose coached Germany suffered a fiasco at the World Cup – they were eliminated in the first knockout stage, losing a penalty shootout to Paraguay.

Introducing himself, J. Klopp made an emotional promise to the fans.

“The day you no longer want me – I won’t be here. I will leave without any compensation,” the football coach said.

– You will say that I am useless and I will no longer be here. Not one person, more. If the DFB says the same, I will not cling on.

If you behave badly and attack my family, I will withdraw. Criticize me if something doesn’t work. I will gladly take it into account. But let’s talk only about work, not personal matters.”

“This will be my last job in my career – I will coach the national team. It would be ideal if this were also the peak of my career,” J. Klopp added.

In the past, he coached “Mainz” (2001–2008), Dortmund “Borussia” (2008–2015) and “Liverpool” (2015–2024) clubs.

The specialist became German and English champion, won cups in both countries, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

After leaving “Liverpool” club “due to dwindling energy,” J. Klopp took on the role of head of the “RB Group” football program.

Among the talents he supervised was 17-year-old Dovas Grudzinskas, who was developing in the “Salzburg” system.
