Kuizinas, while serving as a member of the Telšiai district municipality council from 2019 to 2023, allegedly abused his official position by submitting expense summaries as a council member, which contained possibly false information about fuel expenses. In this way, P. Kuizinas allegedly caused material damage of 3.5 thousand euros to the Telšiai district municipality administration.
S. Čekanauskas, while serving as a member of the Telšiai district municipality council from 2019 to 2023, allegedly abused his official position by submitting expense summaries as a council member, which contained possibly false information about fuel expenses. In this way, S. Čekanauskas allegedly caused material damage of 4.1 thousand euros to the Telšiai district municipality administration.
The Šiauliai District Court confirmed the decision of the Šiauliai Regional Prosecutor’s Office to terminate the pre-trial investigation against Telšiai district municipality council member L. Šedvilas and, under a guarantee, exempt him from criminal liability for abuse of office, embezzlement, and document forgery.
According to the pre-trial investigation data, L. Šedvilas, while serving as a member of the Telšiai district municipality council from 2019 to 2023, abused his official position by submitting expense summaries as a council member, which contained false information about transport expenses for fuel. In this way, L. Šedvilas caused damage of 972 euros to the Telšiai district municipality administration.
The politician fully admitted guilt, sincerely regretted, and compensated the damage caused to the Telšiai district municipality. The court partially granted the prosecutor’s request: it set a one-year guarantee period for L. Šedvilas and imposed a criminal penalty measure – a 1,000 euro payment to the Victims of Crime Fund, but denied the prosecutor’s request to deprive him of the right to be elected to state or municipal institutions and their establishments or enterprises for three years.
