Under the agreement, repair workshops for “Caesar” systems will be established in Lithuania, dedicated to the repair of critical electronic and hydraulic components. This will allow the maintenance and repair of complex artillery systems to be carried out in Lithuania, shortening repair times.

“Lithuania is becoming the first country in the world to which France transfers the technological competence for repairing electronic and hydraulic components of the ‘Caesar’ systems. In Lithuania, we are developing a capacity that will allow not only the use of one of the most advanced artillery systems but also independent maintenance and repair. The transfer of technologies and competencies to the Lithuanian defense industry is an important step in strengthening the autonomy and resilience of our defense industry,” says Minister of National Defense Robertas Kaunas.
This project contributes to one of the strategic areas of the Ministry of National Defense’s defense industry development – the production and servicing of military equipment.
The planned investments will include the creation of repair workshop infrastructure and the acquisition of specialized equipment. Along with the transfer of technologies, the competencies of Lithuanian specialists necessary for the maintenance and repair of complex “Caesar” system components will be strengthened.

The project is a significant example of Lithuanian and French defense industry cooperation. It will contribute to the development of technological capacities of the Lithuanian defense industry, create conditions for developing high value-added competencies in the country, and strengthen the resilience of the European defense industry.
The capacity being developed in Lithuania will ensure the technical readiness of the entire Lithuanian Armed Forces’ “Caesar” fleet.
