In one week, Road Police officers recorded 642 cases of speeding using mobile speed measurement devices, according to a press release from the Kaunas County Police Headquarters.

The week’s speedster was recorded on July 16 at about 11:45 a.m. in Kėdainiai district, on the Jonava – Kėdainiai – Šeduva road, when a Citroen car, driven by a man (born in 1999), was speeding at 123 km/h where the maximum speed limit is 50 km/h. The driver was issued an administrative offense report.

Last week, Road Police officers continued to carry out police measures aimed at identifying drunk drivers and other traffic violations. During these operations, police officers checked over 4.9 thousand vehicles. In total, last week in Kaunas County, police officers identified 23 drunk drivers, 20 drivers who operated vehicles without the right to do so, and as many as 281 drivers who used mobile communication devices while driving.
