Emotions erupted when two Chilean footballers clashed with Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo. Other players rushed in, including Rafael Leao.
This AC Milan club forward, whose market value is estimated at 50 million euros, stood up to defend his teammate. The 26-year-old Portuguese pushed Chilean defender Ivan Roman in the face several times with his hands. The Chilean player fell.
Both footballers were sent off the field, and the match continued.
Finally, goals from Goncalo Guedes and Bruno Fernandes led to Portugal’s victory.
