On Monday night, officers of the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) working at the Kaunas airport border control point (BCP) received information from the aviation security department that a completely drunk passenger on a plane that had just landed from London began to behave aggressively.

In cooperation with Public Security Service officers, the noisy passenger was taken over on the aircraft stairs. The obviously intoxicated man was disoriented, staggered and shouted in front of other passengers. He was brought to the Kaunas airport BCP service premises.

There, border guards determined that the aggressive passenger was a 41-year-old Latvian citizen. After a breathalyzer test showed a high level of intoxication (2.78 per mille of alcohol), the man was locked in the BCP temporary detention room.

After issuing a summons to appear at the border guard station in two weeks when his administrative offense case will be reviewed, the border guards released the Latvian.
