On September 18–19, a Supercup tournament is planned in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). According to the plan, it should become the first of its kind in history.

It should feature three of the four clubs that played in last season’s EuroLeague Final Four: the champion Piraeus Olympiacos, the finalist Real Madrid, and the semifinal loser Istanbul Fenerbahçe, coached by Šarūnas Jasikevičius and Kazys Maksvytis, and represented by Ignas Sargiūnas.
The fourth team chosen is Dubai, which will play as the host.
However, on September 4, “Sport24” journalist Harris Stavrou announced that the tournament was in uncertainty due to the situation in the Middle East.
EuroLeague itself decided to respond to these rumors and confirmed that everything will proceed as planned.

“In response to recent articles appearing in various European media outlets, EuroLeague wants to clarify that the 2026 EuroLeague Supercup tournament scheduled for September 18–19 in Abu Dhabi will take place as planned,” the statement reads.
On the first day of the tournament, Fenerbahçe and Olympiacos should face off in the semifinal, and in the other semifinal – Real and Dubai.
