Legendary Novak Djokovic (2980 pts.), who was eliminated in the first round of the US Open, also suffered a blow in the ATP ranking. The 39-year-old Serb dropped out of the top ten and now ranks 12th.
This ended an almost quarter-century streak during which at least one of the big three – N. Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, or Roger Federer – was ranked in the top ten.
