Once, about ten years ago, she played in a tournament in Latvia with a beach volleyball partner, where they met a titled opponent in the fight for prize places.
“We played against former European champion Inese Jursone,” recalled V. Oganauskienė. “I noticed how exceptionally beautifully she behaved on the court with her partner – as if with a beloved kitten: hugging, kissing.

I asked, and she explained that her daughter was playing with her. Jursone had already finished her professional career, coached others, but could still play at a high level, and her relationship with her daughter on the court left a deep impression on me.
Then for the first time I thought how I would like to someday play with my daughter too. Gabija was only four or five at the time, but I thought how nice it would be if my daughter would someday love volleyball as well.”

- In 2015, Brazilian football legend Rivaldo and his son Rivaldinho scored goals in Brazil’s second division matches.
- In 1996, Eidur Gudjohnsen replaced his father Arnor on the field during an Iceland national football team match against Estonia.
- Last year, during friendly basketball games, Mindaugas Lukauskis and his son Lukas Lukauskis played simultaneously for Birštonas “Milestos”.
Different experiences in sports

She herself attended tennis in childhood but wanted more to engage in team sports until quite late, at the age of 16, she started playing indoor volleyball.
