“A possible report was received about mined buildings, Kaunas Chemijos St. 15 and Baršausko St.,” – an anonymous reader wrote to the portal at 11:43.

Another resident of Kaunas added that due to the received reports, employees of the company “Teltonika” must evacuate. According to him, employees are being evacuated not only in Kaunas but also in Vilnius and Molėtai.

The 15min editorial office also received such a letter: “Today around 11 o’clock ‘Teltonika’ received an anonymous message about mined buildings. No response from the services – we are sitting outside the building, nothing is happening, the building administrators know nothing,” wrote a Vilnius resident.

Employees evacuated themselves

This information was confirmed to the news portal “Kas vyksta Kaune” by the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat.

The on-duty officer informed that the police were notified about the incident.

“We have such a report, not only in Kaunas but also in branches in other cities. Territories are currently being inspected, employees evacuated themselves from the buildings,” he stated.

Officers will decide whether to file a case

The police informed 15min that at 12:21 police forces departed.

Loreta Kairienė, a specialist from the Communications Division of the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat, told the 15min portal that the company administration received the threat by email. A specified sum of money was demanded, otherwise “Teltonika” was allegedly to explode at 12 o’clock.

No explosives were found in the company buildings, and no real danger arose. However, for security reasons, specialists checked the premises of the company’s branches.

Vilnius County police representative L. Kairienė emphasized that patrol officers were dispatched to “Teltonika’s” headquarters at the intersection of Saltoniškių and Ukmergės streets within 4 minutes and arrived very promptly: within 9 minutes. Officers ensured safety and collected information.

He confirmed that employees were evacuated from all company offices. Employees left the premises around 11 o’clock – after the police checked the premises, people returned to work after 1.5 hours.

“Material was collected under Article 285 of the Criminal Code regarding false reporting,” mentioned the Vilnius police representative.
