Due to stuck handcuffs, Kaunas police officers had to call firefighters for help

Kaunas County Police representative Odeta Vaitkevičienė informed BNS that on Sunday night, around 4:15 a.m., a woman reported that a man born in 2002 had left without permission in her BMW car from a homestead in Neveronys village, Kaunas district.

At about 8:15 a.m., the man was detained by the police in Kaunas. Avoiding detention, he did not comply with the lawful demands of the police officers and resisted, so handcuffs were used, which got stuck. Firefighters with special equipment were called to the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat around 10:40 a.m. to remove them. The firefighters cut off the handcuffs.

An administrative offense report was drawn up against the man for resisting officers and failing to comply with their lawful demands.
