Uranium glass was produced from the 19th century until the early 20th century. During production, uranium salts were added to the glass. Although the name of this element is most often associated with radioactivity, nuclear power plants, or atomic weapons, Professor Albinas Žilinskas from the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences at Vilnius University reassures that small amounts of uranium in decorative products usually do not pose a significant danger.
