Today at 14:00, a report was received at the General Help Center (BPC) via the emergency services communication number 112 about a fire in a building owned by the municipality on Šolių St. in Šilalė.

Klaipėda Fire and Rescue Department’s Šilalė and Šilalė district fire and rescue units were dispatched to the scene, BPC reported promptly. Information about the incident was passed on to the Klaipėda Ambulance Station and the Tauragė County Chief Police Commissariat.
15min found out that the smoke smell was noticed and the services were called by the municipal archive employees. Firefighters did not find a fire, but signs of smoke were detected, so the possible source is still being searched for.

Public data shows that the municipality owns three neighboring buildings on Šolių Street in Šilalė, marked with numbers 12, 14, and 16. The call about the possible fire was received “in the middle,” that is, at Šolių St. 14, where the Šilalė district municipality and administration archive operates.
