„Bolt“ acquired new electric vehicles: will partner with „Ignitis“

Passengers using the Bolt platform will now be able to travel even more frequently in extremely comfortable electric vehicles – the ride-hailing platform’s “Comfort Electric” category has been supplemented with new “Toyota bZ4X” model cars. In addition, Bolt recently took another important step – it established a partnership with the “Ignitis ON” electric vehicle charging network, which is expected to encourage more drivers to choose electric vehicles for ride-hailing activities.
The “Toyota bZ4X”, which has supplemented Bolt’s “Comfort Electric” ride-hailing category, is the first Toyota model specifically designed as an electric vehicle. The car has a spacious interior, more room for passengers and luggage, and offers a smooth, quiet ride.

“The new electric vehicles will supplement the ‘Comfort Electric’ category, designed for passengers who are looking not only for a higher level of comfort but also want to travel more sustainably. The popularity of this category is growing, and this shows that for passengers, not only the price of the trip but also the overall travel experience is becoming increasingly important – the opportunity to choose a modern, less noisy vehicle that leaves a smaller carbon footprint, so we aim to have more and more such cars on the platform,” says Laimonas Jakštys, Bolt’s Head of Ride-hailing Services in Lithuania.

An important step – partnership with “Ignitis ON”

Aiming to promote wider use of electric vehicles in the ride-hailing sector, Bolt recently started a partnership with “Ignitis ON”. Now, independent ride-hailing drivers collaborating with the Bolt platform can use special discounts when charging electric vehicles in the “Ignitis ON” fast-charging network.

According to representatives of Bolt and Ignitis, lower charging costs, an extensive charging network, and fast-charging capabilities can become important factors when choosing an electric vehicle for ride-hailing activities.
“Fast and convenient charging is an important advantage for ride-hailing drivers. An ‘Ignitis ON’ charging station is always on the way, as the network is extremely dense – covering as much as 98% of Lithuania’s territory, and the density in cities is even higher,” says Eimantas Balta, head of the leading fast electric vehicle charging network “Ignitis ON”.

L. Jakštys says that the growth in the number of electric vehicles in the ride-hailing sector is an important direction for Bolt.

“We notice that more and more ride-hailing drivers are interested in electric vehicles, but the final decision is often determined by practical matters – charging cost, speed, and convenience. Therefore, initiatives that help independent ride-hailing drivers use electric vehicles more simply and at lower costs are extremely important in promoting electromobility in daily travel. We believe that the partnership with ‘Ignitis ON’ will help independent ride-hailing drivers collaborating with Bolt to choose an electric vehicle more often for their activities, and for those already driving electric vehicles – to reduce daily expenses,” says Laimonas Jakštys, Bolt’s Head of Ride-hailing Services.
