15min reminds that these matches are not taking place at the Darius and Girėnas stadium, where Žalgiris usually plays, but in Jonava – due to the Pitbull concert.
On Monday, the Kaunas team already held a training session at the Jonava city stadium, and after it, defender Rokas Lekiatas shared his insights.
“I wouldn’t say that the preparation for the match is any different than for local championship matches. We gathered after days off, had training sessions, video reviews. We analyzed our matches, what we did well, what was bad, and what we can improve. It’s a weekly process,” the footballer told zalgiris.lt.

R.Lekiatas before the match in Jonava: “Full stands – a bomb”
After last week’s away match, the Kauno Žalgiris footballers did not play Toplyga matches over the weekend and had a bit more time to prepare for the mentioned duel.
“There wasn’t much time to train because for a long time we only had recovery and pre-match training sessions. In this case, we had a few more days, the coach emphasized even more the principles we must follow and the kind of football we have to play. We used those days tactically,” said the Lithuanian national team defender.
Only the last tickets remain for Wednesday’s match at the Jonava city stadium, so the match will take place with full stands.
“The conditions at the stadium are superb, everything is good. There is nothing to complain about, especially when the stands will be full – a bomb,” R.Lekiatas eagerly awaited the duel.
According to the Žalgiris player, the style of Klaksvik is already familiar to the team, they just need to use all the knowledge and skills against them.
“We hope there will be goals. We know their strategies and tendencies both in attack and defense. We analyzed and saw their leaders live, so we need to put all that information in our heads and use it in the match,” the footballer concluded.
15min reminds that Kauno Žalgiris, having passed the first round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, has already guaranteed itself a bonus of at least 1.7 million euros, and success against Klaksvik would earn an even more impressive bonus – at least 3.97 million euros.
