Which jeans add extra kilograms
The stylist is convinced that some models can radically change the perception of the figure.
“If you still think that jeans cannot visually add 5 kg, I have bad news for you,” the stylist noted.
According to the expert, the problem lies not only in the model itself but also in how it fits the proportions of a particular person.
Jeans flaring from the knees: who they don’t suit
One of the most controversial models named by the stylist is jeans flaring from the knees. According to the expert, if your legs are not “from the ears,” the flaring effect may work against you.
“The hips widen, the legs look bulkier, and you yourself look shorter,” the specialist noted.

This combination becomes especially unsuccessful when several factors come together:
- tight fitting above the knee;
- sharp flaring downwards;
- low waistline.
The stylist separately drew attention to a low waist.
“A low waist mercilessly steals leg length in general. Therefore, despite all fashion trends, it is better to avoid it,” the expert emphasized.
“Barrel leg” jeans: who the trendy model doesn’t suit
Popular O silhouette or “barrel leg” (barrel-shaped) jeans can also be difficult to fit. In everyday life, this model can create unwanted volume.
“In real life, this cut deliberately creates volume on the sides, so the legs look rounder. If the legs are short or O-shaped, these jeans will instantly emphasize it and easily add you a few extra kilograms,” the stylist emphasized.
“Banana” type jeans: how they affect proportions
Another model that can work against the figure is “banana” or “slouchy” style jeans. On tall and slim girls, this model often looks impressive, but in other cases, it can highlight flaws.

“They roughly emphasize any roundness, create a stable illusion of leg curvature, and add volume where there never was any,” the stylist noted.
Narrow straight jeans: who should avoid them
Despite their versatility, narrow straight jeans also have their peculiarities. They precisely show all the advantages and disadvantages of the figure without shaping a new silhouette.

“They are a litmus test for the figure. They show everything you have and don’t have without any embellishments,” the specialist explained.
If you don’t want to emphasize hips or legs, the expert advises avoiding this model.
“If you don’t want to attract unnecessary attention to your legs and hips, stop wearing them. And no low waist. To keep the hip line in the right place, choose only medium or high waist,” the expert emphasized.
How to visually lengthen legs – stylist’s secret
Even difficult models can be adapted in the wardrobe if you choose the right footwear.
“And now the secret to saving these difficult models. If you want to wear flared, banana-type, or O silhouette jeans, always wear pointed-toe shoes,” the stylist advised.
“Even with completely flat soles, pointed shoes act as an optical lengthener. They instantly stretch the leg line, creating verticality, and simply save the proportions,” the stylist summarized.
