Norwegians, who qualified for the world championships for the first time in 28 years, recorded the best achievement in the country’s history by defeating the Brazilians in the round of 16 and reaching the top eight teams.

Although they lost 1-2 to England in extra time in the quarterfinals, the team returning home was greeted by tens of thousands of compatriots.
The plane carrying the Norwegian team was met in the air by the country’s military fighters, escorting the Norwegian heroes to Oslo airport.
At the airport, the Norwegians were also welcomed by airport staff.
Among those welcoming the team were representatives of the Norwegian royal family.
The Norwegian team visited the royal palace, and later members of the royal family joined tens of thousands of fans who once again performed the “rowing chant” that resonated around the world.

The most attention at the welcome, as expected, was received by the country’s brightest football personality, E. Haaland. The striker, who scored seven goals in the world championship, surprised when he got off the plane holding a raccoon stuffed toy with an empty alcoholic beverage bottle in his hands.
Finally, the Norwegians climbed onto an open bus and drove through the streets of Oslo, where thousands of fans thanked the team.
