Medical assistance was provided to the injured player, but due to excessive pain, she could not continue the match – after just two games, Ukrainian players Anhelina Kalinina and Dayana Yastremska advanced to the next round.

“I left the court with two stitches and a scraped knee. I can only be glad that I was not more seriously injured. Are we really going to wait until one of the tennis players suffers a serious injury before we finally remove those advertising stands? Player safety must come first,” the Turkish player wrote on social media.

A similar incident occurred during this tournament to British tennis player Katie Boulter (WTA-71), who was somewhat luckier – she was able to continue her second-round singles match.

Another case – not so pleasant. Belgian representative Alexander Blockx suffered an ankle injury during training when he caught his foot on rolled-up covers at the back of the court, which are usually used to cover the court when it starts to rain. The tennis player will demand financial compensation from Roland Garros.
