Alytus police found 12 liters of homemade moonshine-filled cannabis at the suspect's home

The Alytus County Police reported on Friday that officers from the Criminal Police Organized Crime Investigation Division discovered cannabis on September 16 during a pre-trial investigation.

The officers determined that a 52-year-old man allegedly grew cannabis for his own use. Various types of cannabis were found in a meadow, as well as in the sauna and utility building belonging to the man’s homestead. Several dozen cannabis seedlings were seized during the search. Dried cannabis, suspected to be, was also found in glass, plastic, and metal containers of various sizes.

The officers also found cannabis parts in three-liter glass containers filled with what is suspected to be homemade moonshine. In total, about 12.5 liters of possibly homemade moonshine were found and seized during the search.

After questioning, the man was charged with illegal possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances without the intent to distribute. He was assigned a preventive measure – a written promise not to leave.

The suspect had previously been convicted for public order violations and health disturbances.
