Ukraine has concentrated its long-range drone and missile strikes on oil refineries in an effort to weaken Russia’s capacity to continue the war.

Russia has closed the large oil refinery in Orsk, attacked this week, for six months; it is located about 1,300 kilometers from the front line.
“In several regions of the country, the situation regarding fuel supply to gas stations remains tense,” the government announced on social media.
According to the report, oil companies “are taking necessary measures to increase supply to the most vulnerable regions.”
It states that a government meeting was held on this issue, and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, responsible for energy, instructed to monitor fuel prices.
Due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, Russian companies and motorists have repeatedly faced fuel shortages in recent months.
Almost every Russian region has at some point had to limit fuel sales or introduce other rationing measures, such as banning filling up jerry cans.

Krasnodar Krai by the Black Sea, known for its tourist beaches, is among the most affected regions.
“The situation regarding gasoline supply at gas stations has become complicated,” said regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev.
Oil companies “have again started to impose restrictions on the amount of fuel supplied and have shortened gas station operating hours,” he said.
“This raises concerns among the region’s residents and visitors,” the governor added, noting that he has asked authorities to send more fuel.
Ukraine has been targeting Russian energy facilities with drones and missiles for several months, hoping to strike a vital source of income for the Russian military.
The governor of Orenburg Oblast, where the Orsk oil refinery is located, said on Thursday that it was closed and that repairs would take several months.
