As reported by tvn24.pl meteorologist Tomasz Wakszyński, around 3 p.m. at the official temperature measuring station at Radom airport, thermometers showed 39 degrees. This matches the repeated August record – the same was recorded on August 8, 2015, in the village of Cebor in Lower Silesia.

It was already hot in parts of Poland on Wednesday morning. In Wadowice, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, the temperature had already risen to 31.3 degrees by 9 a.m. The IMWG station in Przemyśl showed the same temperature at that time.

By 11 a.m., it was already 36.1 in Rzeszów, with more than 35 degrees recorded in areas of Lesser Poland and Łódź Voivodeships.

From noon, the heat was already hard to bear in many districts. According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW), at 5 p.m. local time, the worst conditions were in Kozienice, where thermometers showed 38.3 degrees. About an hour earlier, it was 38.6 degrees here and in Polawy (Lublin Voivodeship).

It will remain hot in Poland during the coming night and Thursday, but it is forecasted to be a degree or two lower than on Wednesday. It is also warned that the heat may be accompanied by storms with heavy rain and thunder.
