Just last week, a 43-year-old man in Pagėgiai municipality suffered from persons fraudulently targeting someone else’s property.
According to VE.LT, he is a foreigner – living in England with his Lithuanian wife and came to his spouse’s homeland for vacation.
A woman filed a report with the police.
On the evening of September 25 around 10 p.m., while in Pagėgiai municipality, the man received an SMS message containing an active link.
The foreigner clicked it and entered the requested personal and electronic banking login details.

Soon the Englishman noticed that his bank account was emptied – there were no 2000 pounds sterling left.
