Due to a fatal accident in Riga, train traffic was disrupted

Witnesses on social media report that a train hit a person between Imanta and Babīte stations.

According to preliminary police data, at about 11:45 a.m. in Riga, a train hit a pedestrian who died from the injuries sustained.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The railway company “Pasazieru Vilciens” reported that due to the accident, the train scheduled to depart at 12:15 p.m. from Riga to Dubulti was canceled, and several other trains were delayed.
