“Kaunas “Žalgiris” has made a significant offer to Carsen Edwards,” writes A. Maggi. “Reportedly, the offered salary is slightly less than 2 million dollars.”
C. Edwards is a player of a similar style to Sylvain Francisco, whom “Žalgiris” wanted to keep. However, the 185 cm tall Frenchman received an even more impressive offer from ASVEL Villeurbanne.
28-year-old, 180 cm tall C. Edwards is also a fierce scorer, somewhat less focused on passing to teammates.
The American has already revealed his talent in the EuroLeague.
Representing Munich “Bayern” club two seasons ago, C. Edwards became the top scorer of the EuroLeague season, averaging 20.4 points. That season, the German club finished ninth in the EuroLeague regular season.
Last summer, the Germans wanted to keep C. Edwards, but he received other offers and eventually moved to Italy.
Last season, C. Edwards scored an average of 17.3 points for Bologna “Virtus” in the EuroLeague.

He scored that much playing 25 minutes per game, shooting 46.7% on two-pointers, 31.9% on three-pointers, and 79.8% on free throws. C. Edwards also grabbed 2.2 rebounds and dished out 2.3 assists in the EuroLeague. However, the Italian team finished only seventeenth in the regular season.

- He represented Purdue University, broke many team records in the NCAA, and in 2017 played for the USA U19 national team at the World Championship.
- Drafted 33rd overall in the 2019 NBA draft by the “Boston Celtics”. In his first NBA season, he averaged 3.3 points, in his second – 4 points. He also played in the G League, and briefly for the “Detroit Pistons”.
- In 2022-2023, he represented Istanbul “Fenerbahçe”. He scored 8 points and made 1.1 assists per game for the Turkish club.
- In 2023-2025, he played for Munich “Bayern”. In his first EuroLeague season, he averaged 11.5 points, but in his second, he became the top scorer of the entire EuroLeague season – averaging 20.4 points.
- In 2025-2026, he played for Bologna “Virtus”.
There were flashes of high scoring – for example, he scored 36 points against ASVEL, 35 against “Fenerbahçe”, and 32 against Real Madrid.
C. Edwards has already finished this season, as his team, Bologna “Virtus”, lost 1-3 to Venice “Umana Reyer” in the Italian league semi-final series.
In the last semi-final game on Saturday, lost 83:90, C. Edwards scored 17 points. Before that, in the semi-final matches, he was also among the leaders: scoring 25, 31, 21 points.
“Virtus” had won the regular season, and the American guard, who is of interest to “Žalgiris”, scored 17 points and made 3.3 assists per game in the Italian league.
After this season, the Bologna club’s contract with the American also ended.
Kaunas “Žalgiris” continues its season – on Sunday, they start the LKL final series to three wins at home against Utena “Juventus”.
