Teams with different moods meet on Saturday for the LKL third-place series for third place.
Starting the small final on their home court, “Neptūnas” basketball players were third in the regular championship, achieved more victories than “Lietkabelis” in the EuroCup tournament, and confidently overcame the quarter-final barrier.
However, Gediminas Petrauskas and his coached Klaipėda team expressed disappointment in the semi-finals, where they lost the series 1-3 to Utena “Juventus”, who will start the LKL final series with “Žalgiris” in Kaunas on Sunday for the first time in the club’s history.
“Lietkabelis” struggled for most of the season, losing more often than winning in the LKL regular season, but defeated “Neptūnas” in the KMT small final, beat “Šiauliai”, who were one place higher, in the LKL quarter-finals, and logically lost to the favorite “Žalgiris” (0-3) in the semi-finals.
