Trump, speaking about the Knicks and the NBA Finals, sent a disturbing message to fans

Donald Trump, a native New Yorker, has basketball plans for Monday.

The US President intends to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

It will take place at New York’s Madison Square Garden arena, where the home team, the New York Knicks, lead the series against the San Antonio Spurs 2-0 after two away games in the Finals.

With the Knicks two wins away from a title that New York hasn’t seen in the past 53 years, the game is surrounded by immense hype.

On the secondary market, tickets for the worst seats at MSG cost 8-9 thousand euros each.

Knicks fans are looking for all sorts of ways to see the game live, and D. Trump isn’t too concerned that ordinary fans can’t afford such tickets.

“They can watch on TV,” the US President stated.

“You can watch it semi-free there,” D. Trump added. “That’s life.”

The politician explained that if the Knicks weren’t so successful on the court (and they haven’t been for many seasons since they last played in the Finals in 1999) “then you could get in very easily.”

The US President himself does not buy tickets to important sporting events.

And during his second term, he attended them multiple times – he was at the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500 race, and the Ryder Cup golf tournament.

D. Trump has promised to curb inflation and lower prices and living costs for Americans, but ahead of the upcoming midterm elections in November, he is facing increasing pressure over unfulfilled promises and the war in Iran, which is hurting the US economy.

Considering himself a long-time Knicks fan, D. Trump said he watched the first NBA Finals game on screen.

“I think the Knicks have a crazy team that played very well,” he said. “They started slow, but then got stronger and stronger.”

D. Trump named Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns as his favorite players on the New York team.
