“The truce must be comprehensive (…), without Israel’s (…) freedom to kill,” N. Qassem said in a televised address, urging the government to stop “the farce and humiliation called direct negotiations” with Israel.
He also stated that “as long as our villages are unsafe – bombed, destroyed, and our people killed – settlements (in Northern Israel too) are unsafe.”
Lebanon and Israel agreed on Wednesday to implement a ceasefire, but stated that this would require a “complete cessation of fire” from Hezbollah, according to a joint statement after US-led talks in Washington.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun (Žozefas Aunas) stated on Thursday that the agreement announced after talks with Israel in Washington is the last chance to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire.
Israeli Defense Minister Israelis Katz (Israelis Kacas) said that the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon gives the army the freedom to strike Beirut if Hezbollah attacks Israeli communities.
He added that operations in Southern Lebanon would continue.
