Representatives of several companies contacted the Register Centre, who noticed information in publicly available sources about changes in the number of shares of their companies, although no changes in the authorized capital were registered. Representatives of the portal rekvizitai.lt, which publishes information about legal entities, also informed the Register Centre about this situation.
Having identified this problem, the Register Centre immediately took action – first, changes were made so that this erroneous information would no longer be displayed in future informational publications. In the near future, it is planned to implement software changes that will correct previously formed informational publications so that misleading information is no longer present in them.
Data recipients who use the information provided in the informational publications issued by the Register Centre for their own needs are recommended to wait until the erroneous informational publications are updated and then update their data. Specifically, the situation was presented to the representatives of rekvizitai.lt and they were asked not to publish this erroneous information about changes in shares on their portal.
According to preliminary data, this erroneous report on the change in the number of shares has been displayed in informational publications since May 22. Erroneous information is indicated only for private limited companies and public limited companies that submitted their financial report or other data changes to the Register Centre during this period, for example, changes in the manager, management bodies, registered office, etc. According to the Register Centre’s calculations, there are about 35 thousand such companies.
Informational publications are electronic publications issued by the Register Centre, which publish public notices of legal entities and notices from the register administrator.
