The former second-in-command at the Department of Justice, T. Blanche, has since sought to bring charges against D. Trump’s alleged enemies, including former FBI Director James Comey.
According to video shared by a White House official on social media, D. Trump told White House dinner guests that he plans to officially nominate T. Blanche for the position on Thursday.
“Tomorrow I will direct (…) that we appoint him as permanent Attorney General,” D. Trump said in a video shared by Dan Scavino, deputy head of the Trump administration.

T. Blanche led the Department of Justice when it attempted to implement a controversial plan to create a $1.8 billion (1.53 billion euros) compensation fund, which critics condemned as a “slush fund” for D. Trump’s political allies.
The fund was proposed as part of a settlement in a case D. Trump brought against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), with an addendum to the agreement prohibiting the agency from investigating D. Trump’s tax arrears.
On Tuesday, T. Blanche informed Congress that the compensation fund will not be created, but D. Trump’s protection from the IRS will remain.
