With 2 countries already withdrawing from Eurovision 2027 – LRT announced its decision

“LRT adheres to the position of the European Broadcasting Union and is currently not considering withdrawing from the Eurovision Song Contest. EBU is deciding on the organization of the contest, and LRT, as an EBU member, follows and respects the decisions made collectively within the organization,” the broadcaster’s administration stated in a comment to BNS.

“At the same time, LRT is already preparing for next year’s contest – performers are invited to submit applications and participate in the 2027 national selection EUROVIZIJA.LT,” it said.

The Netherlands and Ireland will boycott the 2027 Eurovision, their public broadcasters deciding to withdraw due to Israel’s participation in the contest and concerns about the war in the Gaza Strip and the humanitarian situation.

Last year’s Eurovision was represented by Lion Ceccah for Lithuania, who took 22nd place.

The 2027 contest will take place in May in Burgas, Bulgaria, after the country’s representative “Dara” won last year’s Eurovision held in Vienna. Five countries boycotted this contest.
