It was speculated that it might be one of the drones that flew into Lithuania in May but later disappeared from radars.
It turned out that the drone had a different purpose.
“On September 16, 2026, after finding a fallen drone in the forest of Keneliai village, Pasvalys district, a procedure to clarify the circumstances was initiated.
After implementing the Shield plan and determining that the drone was without explosives and was possibly used to transport contraband, it was assessed that the collected initial material should be further investigated in the previously initiated pre-trial investigation into contraband, which is supervised by the Panevėžys District Prosecutor’s Office,” the Lithuanian Police Department stated in a released announcement.
