“According to the latest data, this drone near the border was most likely either shot down or hit its target,” Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goryszewski, a military representative, told the portal.
He said that an explosion was heard about four kilometers from the border.
According to Tvp.info, preliminary data suggests that the drone, believed to be carrying explosives, fell or was shot down about 4 km from the Polish border, on the Ukrainian side.
“The aircraft was quickly approaching our border,” the portal writes.
The news agency Reuters, citing a Ukrainian official, reported that an explosion sound was heard a few kilometers from the Polish border during Russian drone attacks on Ukraine.
According to the Polish Border Guard Service, no one at the border crossing points was harmed during the incident.
Air attack threat announced
“ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! Air attack threat. Find a safe place. Follow the instructions of the services. Wait for further announcements,” reads the statement from the State Security Center, which was also shared on social media.
This warning was sent to residents of the Subcarpathian and Lublin voivodeships. Almost simultaneously, a warning about the Russian offensive in Ukrainian territory was also issued.
“The situation is being monitored. Polish aviation is on alert in the airspace of the Republic of Poland. Wait for further announcements,” the statement says.

Lublin and Rzeszów airports temporarily suspended their operations, the Polish Air Navigation Agency reported.
Military aviation operations started
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced that military aviation operations have begun.
“Attention. Due to strikes carried out by the Russian Federation using jet drones against western Ukrainian territories, military aviation operations have started in Polish airspace,” the command’s statement reads.
It is reported that according to applicable procedures, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has mobilized its forces. Ground air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached a state of readiness.
“These measures are preventive in nature and intended to ensure the safety and protection of airspace, especially in areas bordering dangerous territories.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, and its subordinate forces and means are ready to respond immediately,” the statement says.
