The incident occurred on September 11, when several dozen bikers from motorcycle clubs such as “Spiders,” “Wolves,” “Roadhogs,” “Road Warriors” gathered near the mosque where the prayers were taking place.

As seen in the photos published by “What’s Happening in Kaunas,” among the arriving bikers was Laurynas Baltrūnas, nicknamed Oblius, the leader of the “Spiders,” who was previously suspected of the murder of Aivaras Kilkus.
Additionally, one of the bikers brought a pig’s head, which he showed to the praying people. During the prayers, the bikers played loud music, chanted “Lithuania, Lithuania,” to which the praying people responded with shouts of “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great” – editor’s note).
The entire confrontation was observed by police officers, who did not intervene actively. As later stated to BNS by Kaunas County Police representative Odeta Vaitkevičienė, this was a deliberately chosen tactic to avoid provoking further tensions.

Nevertheless, the police initiated a pre-trial investigation for incitement against any nation, race, ethnic, religious, or other group of people (Criminal Code Article 170, Part 2) and obstruction of religious rites (Criminal Code Article 171). This decision was made after reviewing and evaluating the available video footage and examining the received reports.
