The short-term disruption was recorded in the transmission network managed by Litgrid – the 110 kV power line Panevėžys–Velžys was disconnected. The transmission system operator Litgrid confirmed that the supply was promptly restored, but one phase was temporarily missing in part of the network,” ESO representative explained to the news portal JP.
According to her, the first reports from residents about the power outage started coming in after a few minutes.
“After receiving additional information from Litgrid, at 11:59 AM ESO began customer resupply in the distribution network to ensure quality electricity supply,” said R. Juodkienė.
According to ESO data, the power supply was disrupted for 19.8 thousand customers in the city of Panevėžys, and the Vašuokėnai and Viešintai areas.

“Electricity supply was restored to all customers at 12:47 PM,” said the ESO representative.
According to her, the company responded promptly to the situation and made the necessary network switches to restore power as quickly as possible.
“We can apply such technical solutions thanks to the digitalization solutions implemented in the network, which increase the network’s flexibility and management capabilities,” said R. Juodkienė.
Although the power supply was restored in just over an hour, some residents experienced internet outages, household appliance failures, and other electricity-dependent services during that time. Residents of Panevėžys shared information about the disruptions on social networks and inquired when the power supply would be restored.
