Actors confirmed in an exclusive comment to PEOPLE magazine that their marriage has ended. The couple stated that they had been living separately for some time and ultimately made a decision they believed was best for their family.
“We lived separately for a while and it turned out to be the right decision for us and our family. We will always be a support for each other,” A. Seyfried and T. Sadoski said in a joint statement.
40-year-old A. Seyfried and 50-year-old T. Sadoski first met in 2015 when they acted together in the play “The Way We Get By.”
That same year, the actors met again on the set of the film “The Last Word.” They played lovers in the movie, and soon the chemistry on screen transferred to real life. In March 2016, PEOPLE magazine confirmed that the couple was dating.
At the end of the same year, the actors got engaged, and in March 2017, they secretly married.
“We ran away to get married. We just went out of town with the officiant – it was just the two of us and we did everything the way we wanted,” T. Sadoski said at the time. “It was wonderful. Everything was as it should be. Just the two of us, talking to each other.”
Just a few days later, the couple welcomed their first child – daughter Nina. In September 2020, their family was joined by son Thomas Jr.
Over the years, A. Seyfried and T. Sadoski tried to keep their family life private. The couple chose a quieter life on a farm in upstate New York. The actress occasionally allowed fans a glimpse into their daily life – family routines, animals, and joint activities aimed at supporting children affected by conflict.
In 2017, shortly after their wedding, T. Sadoski spoke very warmly about his wife.
“She is the person I love, admire, and respect the most in the whole world,” the actor said then.
The couple also continued to support each other professionally and publicly. In 2022, when receiving the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in the series “The Dropout,” A. Seyfried thanked her husband.
In 2023, T. Sadoski appeared on the red carpet with his wife at the premiere of the series “The Crowded Room.”
That same year, A. Seyfried described the couple as “yin and yang” when talking about their approach to raising children – different but complementary opposites. At the time, T. Sadoski spoke about how proud he was to contribute alongside his wife to the work of the organization “War Child USA.”
In January 2026, A. Seyfried again spoke about her husband’s support of her career. In an interview with Vogue magazine, she said that when she took roles in the films “The Testament of Ann Lee,” “The Housemaid,” and the series “Long Bright River,” her husband was incredibly busy because of her career.
