Latvian border guards turned back 29 migrants on Tuesday, while one attempt to illegally cross the border was recorded at the Polish border on Monday.

This year, more than 1,500 illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania. Last year, there were more than 1,600 attempts to enter the country from Belarus in unauthorized places, and the year before that, the number was 1,002.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented 26,000 foreigners from illegally entering the country.

The influx of migrants into the eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
