Currently, SMS messages being circulated indicate an alleged unpaid contribution amount and threaten to send the debt for collection. For example, clients receive messages of this content without Lithuanian characters: “SODRA: until 2026 09 14 unpaid taxes 1859.86 Eur debt will be sent for collection.” The message also includes a link which supposedly allows you to learn more when clicked.
These are messages sent by scammers. Scammers often try to create a sense of urgency: they report a debt, impending collection, or another problem and urge immediate clicking of the link. Such a link may lead to a website visually similar to the official institution’s site. There, you are asked to log in to online banking, provide card details, or other sensitive information.
Even if the SMS or email looks convincing, it is safer not to click the provided link but to open a web browser yourself, enter www.sodra.lt, and log in to your account from the official website. There you can check current information and verify whether there really is a debt or another obligation mentioned in the message. If the message raises suspicion, do not rush.

What to pay attention to
The official “Sodra” website is www.sodra.lt, the residents’ account – https://gyventojai.sodra.lt, the employers’ – https://draudejai.sodra.lt. Official “Sodra” email addresses end with @sodra.lt.
“Sodra” does not ask for bank card details, PIN codes, confirmation of bank transactions, or urgent money transfers via SMS messages. Suspicion should also be raised by an unusual internet address, additional words or symbols in it, as well as messages from foreign phone numbers.
If you receive a suspicious SMS or email in the name of “Sodra,” you can report the fraud attempt by email to info@sodra.lt. Information sent by residents helps to detect new fraud methods faster and warn others about them.
