On Monday, the news portal “Delfi” reported about this.
According to its information, in September 2024, a little more than a month before the parliamentary elections, L. Matjošaitytė sent by email to Robertas Puchovičius, vice-chairman of “Nemuno aušros,” a draft of the party’s response to the VRK regarding funding sources. In the same letter, she asked the “aušrietis” to transfer her prepared response to the “Word” document created by R. Puchovičius, “so that my metadata would not remain.”
R. Puchovičius told the portal that he does not remember such a request and letter from L. Matjošaitytė.
Neither the party nor the current VRK member declared their former cooperation.
Initially refusing to disclose whether she received payment from the party, the lawyer later reported that she did not earn money. She refuses to comment on the details of professional relations with “Nemuno aušra,” arguing that it is a lawyer-client secret.
BNS wrote that the VRK is investigating the extent of consultations received by the opposition “Nemuno aušra” from L. Matjošaitytė.

From 2017 to 2021, L. Matjošaitytė was the chairperson of the VRK. She returned to the commission member position after her candidacy was submitted by Rimantas Mockus, then Minister of Justice, delegated by “Nemuno aušra.”
In May 2025, the newly composed commission decided on violations of the political campaign financing of “Nemuno aušra.” In some votes, L. Matjošaitytė agreed that the party committed violations; in others, she abstained.
The VRK member claimed that these votes did not constitute a conflict of interest for her and no grounds for recusal, as upon returning to work in the commission, she does not provide consultations to political organizations.
