D.Tomkevičius from 15min told that he recorded the suspicious condition of the railway tracks while he was out mushroom picking. He filmed the tracks walking from Linkuva (Pakruojis district) towards Šeduva (Radviliškis district).

“I came here and somehow noticed the railway tracks. The rubber is torn. My good shoe – I kicked one bolt, and I see that the bolts are loose everywhere along the way. It’s a joke. Dyzeliuks runs every day. At least every two hours, it runs here, carrying people from Šiauliai to Panevėžys,” the man said.
He raised the question whether they are just waiting for an accident like this. “And then we will look for those to blame,” the man added.
Darius said that his own grandfather was a railway switchman – a railway worker responsible for creating routes for trains and shunting consists and ensuring safe traffic at the station.

“And I used to go switch the switches. So I know the order, who, how it used to be. Such things never happened,” he noted.
The condition of this railway section was assessed by an expert, and “Lietuvos geležinkeliai” also clarified the situation.
The image causes concern for the expert
According to Vilnius Tech University scientist Associate Professor Dr. Gediminas Vaičiūnas, the situation shown in the footage is not “a hair’s breadth from disaster,” but it causes serious concern.
