Freja celebrated her sixteenth birthday having already managed to fulfill some of the dreams she wrote down when she was only eight. At fourteen, she left her hometown Seda and moved to Kaunas, the main character of the Disney film “Moana” spoke and sang in Lithuanian with her voice, and now the girl has stepped onto the stage of “The Voice of Lithuania”.

“Since I was eight years old, I have created a little plan for the next ten years, which I don’t show to anyone, but today I can say that those things are coming true. Both moving to Kaunas and collaborating with Disney were part of that plan. My mom always told me: dream carefully, because dreams come true. I would even like to tattoo this because it is really true,” Freja said with a smile.
The girl from the small town of Seda in Žemaitija is one of the youngest participants in the thirteenth season of “The Voice of Lithuania”. Currently, she is preparing for the role of the teenager Fiona in the musical “Shrek” at the Kaunas Musical Theatre, and she studies jazz vocals at the Juozas Gruodis Conservatory.
Freja managed to fulfill one of her biggest dreams even earlier – in the Lithuanian version of the Disney film “Moana,” the main character spoke and sang with her voice.
“For the role of Moana, I had to significantly change my voice, so many found it hard to believe that I both sang and recorded the dialogues. The main character in this film has a more childlike, lighter voice, while mine is quite dark and low, so I had to work a lot. But the fact that I got the opportunity to voice the main character in such a popular and beloved film is undoubtedly one of my greatest achievements,” Freja said happily.
Freja has been purposefully pursuing her musical goals for several years. At just fourteen, she decided to leave her hometown Seda and move to Kaunas. Although moving out of the parental home at such an age might seem like a bold step to many, for Freja it was another long-planned goal.
Family, especially her mother, holds a very important place not only in Freja’s musical path but also in her life. Growing up in a family with four sisters, Freja said she was raised in an environment where she was taught from a young age to stick together.
“Since childhood, my mom hammered into our heads that as sisters, we will have nothing without each other, so we must help one another. But in our family, we are all very close and support each other no matter what happens.”

Freja also shares a special bond with her eldest sister Deimantė, who has a disability. Although she currently lives in a specially adapted home, Freja emphasized that her sister feels happy there, and the family tries to visit her as often as possible.
“We love her just as much as all the other family members. She lives in a very nice place, and I know she is very happy there. Of course, we would like to visit more often; mom goes most often, but my sisters and I really try to spend time together.”
When the family manages to be all together, music is never missing – the family has a tradition without which, according to Freja, their gatherings are hard to imagine.
“When it’s Christmas or some other occasion and we come to Deimantė’s home, we always dance and sing all kinds of songs. And ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ has even become our tradition. My sisters and I sing it every time; we just put on a concert for the whole family,” the girl laughed.
Saturday is doubly special for Freja – on September 12, the girl turned sixteen, and her first performance on the stage of “The Voice of Lithuania” aired on television. In fact, Freja celebrated her birthday in the way that probably suits her best – not in front of the TV screen, but on stage.
“On Saturday, there will be a celebration in my hometown, and I will sing there. So I will start my birthday evening with a concert, and then most likely we will go home with my family and watch ‘The Voice of Lithuania’,” Freja said.
