“The armed forces destroyed vehicles and weapons and killed members of the Iranian regime-backed Houthi terrorist militia,” reported the government news agency Saba, citing events near the port of al Muchos.
A spokesperson for Yemen’s government forces, Majed Abdullah al Nazili, said that strikes on the al Muchos–Dzubabo road, located 11 kilometers from the city, also destroyed Houthi equipment and killed fighters, according to Saba.
M. A. al Nazili informed on Friday that forces began shelling the Mocha districts and urged residents to avoid the Taiz–Mocha and Mocha–Dzubabo roads.
The Houthis took control of the city of Mocha on Thursday. Due to their offensive, many people were forced to flee to Aden, where the internationally recognized government is based.

Houthi media reported on Friday that two Saudi strikes hit Mocha airport, while local officials said six rockets of unknown origin struck the city’s seaport.
The Houthi offensive that began last week has claimed more than 500 lives, according to sources on both sides.
The United Nations (UN) migration agency stated on Friday that about 46,000 people have left their homes due to these actions.
This is part of the renewed hostilities in the Yemeni civil war, which began in 2014 when this group took over the capital, Sana’a.
