On June 1, officers from the Operations Department of the Utena District Police Commissariat found about 27 liters of suspected homemade moonshine at a man’s residence in the Utena district. They also found two containers with 60 liters of suspected mash and equipment likely used for the production of strong homemade alcoholic beverages.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched regarding the incident under Article 201, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania (Illegal production, possession, transportation, or sale of homemade strong alcoholic beverages, non-denatured or denatured ethyl alcohol, their dilutions (mixtures)), led by a prosecutor from the Utena District Prosecutor’s Office of the Panevėžys Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
