Šaras evaluated the changed “Fenerbahçe” roster over the summer: “That was the most important thing to me”

– We are very impressed with the roster we assembled this summer. Of course, as always, we will have to be patient, work hard, and be ready.”

Asked about what was missing last season, Šaras pointed out decision-makers on the court.

„This offseason we wanted to add more players who could play with the ball and make decisions on the court, – said Š.Jasikevičius.

– For me, that was the most important thing. We wanted players who make good decisions from the first to the fifth position.

And those who would fight for each other on the court.

That’s what we wanted to improve. I think last season we allowed opponents to score too many easy points.

We suffered in defense because we made bad decisions in offense. We will see if assembling a more experienced roster will help us in the areas I mentioned.”

After the season, the Fenerbahçe team lost Tarik Biberović, Mikael Jantunen, Artūras Žagaras, Khem Birch, Devon Hall, Bonzie Colson, Brandon Boston, Armando Bacot, Jilson Bango, Metecan Birsen, and Nando De Colo, who retired.

They were replaced by Shane Larkin, Will Clyburn, Shavon Shields, Trent Forrest, Braxton Key, Sertac Sanli, Marcus Bingham, Johnny Juzang, and Lithuanian Ignas Sargiūnas.
