Minister: all evaluations of the Baltic Sea wind farm project need to be awaited

“Additional evaluations never hurt, they will be assessed and we will decide. First of all, I would like to emphasize that the evaluation of ‘Ignitis’ itself (‘Ignitis Group’ – BNS) is currently being completed and conclusions must be submitted by the end of June. Decisions will be made by the Ministries of Finance and Energy within this scope, we will submit proposals,” Ž.Vaičiūnas told journalists at the Government on Wednesday.

Asked whether it still makes sense to continue the project, the minister did not undertake to assess it.

“This is definitely a big, important project and every aspect needs to be responsibly evaluated. Until we see the full analysis, the entire risk assessment, which must be submitted, today I certainly would not undertake to evaluate any particular statements,” the Minister of Energy said.
