How they prepared to receive the US delegation
According to the Ukrainian leader, the country was ready to receive the US plane and could have even used two airports for that purpose.

“Ukraine was ready to receive the US plane, it was possible to use both Boryspil and Zhulyany airports. Russia struck both Zhulyany and Boryspil runways, but technically everything was operational. The question remained whether Russia would provide a security corridor,” said V. Zelensky.
The president also mentioned an alternative route option – through Belarusian territory.
“There was an option to fly to Belarus, to go from Gomel, the Security Service examined everything, but they (the envoys – ed. note) chose to travel by train,” he noted.
Offered his plane
V. Zelensky announced that the countries agreed on a new visit.
“It is important not to make long breaks,” added the country’s leader.
He also spoke about the route that could be used next time if the delegation decided to fly by plane.

“I think next time it is possible to try flying by plane. If they do not want to fly on an American plane, they can fly to Poland, and my plane can bring them,” said the president.
Earlier on Tuesday, V. Zelensky announced a possible meeting with US President Donald Trump on September 20, aiming to raise the issue of missile supply for Ukraine’s “Freja” system.
He also proposed holding a new round of negotiations involving the US during the United Nations General Assembly at the end of September in New York.
