“This is a political decision. And I made it consciously. I do not want the office of the Prosecutor General to be used as a tool for political confrontation. My position on the accusations remains unchanged,” wrote R. Kravchenko.

He also thanked colleagues who honestly perform their work. R. Kravchenko separately mentioned those who support the accusations in courts, work with victims, document Russian crimes, and defend state interests.
“Your work should by no means be undervalued. I thank the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada for their trust and ask to accept my resignation,” he added.
Accusations against Kravchenko – what is known
Earlier, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) conducted a special operation during which a criminal organization led by an official from the Prosecutor General’s Office was exposed. The group was involved in “covering” a network of fraudulent call centers and legalizing assets.
The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the use of duties, status as a prosecutor’s employee, or official capabilities to conceal or assist in any criminal activity is unacceptable. It was also emphasized that the institution is ready to assist the investigation.
During the investigation of the “Carthage” operation materials, NABU published photos of an opened safe filled with bundles of cash. Some media outlets reported that this safe was in the Prosecutor General’s Office, but Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko denied this information.

R. Kravchenko stated that he has nothing to do with the cover-up of illegal call centers, did not give instructions to assist such activities, and did not use the Prosecutor General’s powers for this purpose. He also noted that during searches, investigators were given full access to his office and all other places that needed to be inspected.
An employee of the Prosecutor General’s Office involved in the investigation has already been suspended from duties. R. Kravchenko said he instructed to prepare a decision on this employee’s dismissal according to the law.
The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office in the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, deciding on the preventive measure for the Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department, Serhiy Kropyva, who is suspected of covering call centers, stated that the suspect supervised repairs at Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s house in Kozyn.
The prosecutor said that detectives recorded a conversation between S. Kropyva and the Prosecutor General on March 4, 2026. From it, according to the prosecutor, it can be understood that Kropyva “is protected by the Prosecutor General.” According to him, this explains the broad powers held by S. Kropyva.
Moreover, according to the law enforcement representative, S. Kropyva helped arrange a US visa for R. Kravchenko’s wife and organized the Prosecutor General’s birthday celebration in Madrid.
