As V.Rupeikytė told the portal Žmonės.lt, she and her beloved Marius celebrated their wedding on May 30th. According to her, the couple chose this date deliberately.

“I didn’t share anything on the first day because I wanted to be in the moment one hundred percent – with my people, with emotions, with all the magic of that day. I shared a few memories only on May 31st, so many thought that our wedding took place on that day.
And the date itself was partly dictated by Marius’s uncle. At first, we considered July or August, but he simply said: we don’t have that many summers in life. Some live more than ninety, others less, so why sacrifice another one for wedding preparations? This thought touched us deeply. So we “sacrificed” early spring, which, to be honest, flew by unnoticed. And the whole summer was ours – slow, calm, and dedicated to life,” shared V.Rupeikytė with Žmonės.lt.
The well-known performer revealed that the wedding ceremony took place at the Veiviržėnai Church of St. Apostle Evangelist Matthew. It turns out there was no long deliberation about it, as the decision was influenced by one reason.
“My husband’s uncle – Vidmantas Gricius, the priest of this church, so we didn’t even consider the idea of having the ceremony somewhere else. Marius’s uncle is one of the wisest people I know, so the ceremony was perfect! It’s good when such people unite for eternal life together! And to not imagine it far away, the second part of the celebration was nearby,” the singer recalled.
When asked if she dreamed of a big, noisy wedding, she said that on this important day she wanted to have the closest people by her side and celebrate joyfully.
“I wanted a big, fun, lively wedding, but at the same time – very cozy and genuine. We dreamed of being surrounded by the closest people with whom we could not only celebrate but also sincerely experience the day without any rush or tension. In the end, that’s exactly how it was – 64 people attended our celebration,” Viktorija revealed.
The impressive bridal gown was created by “Odmega,” and the bride liked the result also because she had worked with the designer before. V.Rupeikytė admitted that complete trust in the designer allowed achieving a stunning result.
“I entrusted myself to Odeta’s hands because we had already created my concert outfit together once. She has an incredible gift to see a person – their character, inner self, nature – and put all that into a garment.
Sometimes it even feels uncomfortable because it seems like you are seen without any masks. And being completely yourself also requires courage. So I knew that this dress would not just be a beautiful garment – it would be about me. On that day, I felt completely myself in it, and that is probably the greatest gift for which I am immensely grateful to Odeta,” V.Rupeikytė smiled to Žmonės.lt.
Some newlyweds entrust wedding planning to professionals, but this couple decided to rely on their own strength. V.Rupeikytė revealed that they did not have a wedding planner and organized everything themselves.
“To be honest, when Marius proposed to me, most decisions were made in just a couple of weeks, and a month before the wedding, we just called all the suppliers and finalized everything.
The whole planning process was a great pleasure for us. We wanted this day not to drain our energy but to double happiness, joy, and good emotions. And that’s exactly what happened,” said the well-known woman.
Although perfect order cannot be guaranteed when planning everything yourself, the couple did not let minor mishaps overshadow their day. Viktorija admitted there were some unpleasant emotions due to suppliers’ carelessness, but it did not spoil the beauty and joy of the celebration.
“If we had a wedding planner, she probably would have noticed and prevented a few supplier mistakes. But we didn’t have serious challenges or major mishaps. We tried to look at everything lightly and not overemphasize the details, so even surprises didn’t spoil the mood. In the end, everything went as we hoped – full of joy, love, and beautiful moments,” V.Rupeikytė assured.
To the portal Žmonės.lt, the performer revealed that after the wedding she chose a double surname – hers and her husband’s.
“I wanted to beautifully combine what has accompanied me so far and what we are creating together now. For me, it symbolizes not a farewell to my identity but the merging of two stories into one,” the performer shared her thoughts.
It’s no secret that weddings are full of emotional moments. Such a moment happened at Viktorija and Marius’s wedding. Although the whole day was full of beautiful emotions, one moment was most deeply etched in the bride’s memory.
“The most emotional moment for me was walking with my father to Marius and the moment when my father handed me over to my future husband. It was an incredibly moving moment that I will carry in my heart for a lifetime.
On the second day of the wedding, Marius and I talked about how many warned us that we wouldn’t remember much because everything would pass very quickly. But we arranged the whole day so that there would be as little stress and rush as possible. We arrived at the parish house together, not separately, as is often customary. We did the photo session near the church, and horses were waiting for us at the parish house, so there was no need to rush or drive anywhere.
I think that slowness allowed us to truly experience every moment. And now it seems that we calmly put all those memories into our memory drawers – so that we can have them for many years,” V.Rupeikytė told Žmonės.lt.
However, the couple had to postpone their honeymoon plans briefly. V.Rupeikytė admitted that serious health challenges awaited her immediately after the celebration.
“We haven’t had a honeymoon yet because my health has slightly adjusted our plans at the moment. When everything is fine, we will go! We are really looking forward to it!” said the performer.
As the singer revealed, she knew about the need for surgery even before walking down the aisle but consciously decided to postpone it.
“I found out about the need for surgery about two weeks before the wedding. Initially, the surgery was planned to be done immediately, but together with the doctor, we decided that if the health situation allows, we would postpone it until after the wedding.
I am very glad that I could fully experience our day and be in it one hundred percent. And now I can calmly focus on health and recovery,” said V.Rupeikytė.
When asked about her diagnosis, the performer did not want to go into detail but opened her heart hoping her experience would be a valuable reminder to other women.
“I wouldn’t want to elaborate much on this topic, but I really want to share something that, I hope, will encourage every woman to take care of herself. I am currently awaiting another surgery. The diagnosis is not encouraging – doctors found very high-grade cervical changes, considered the last stage before invasive cancer. I am extremely grateful that I went for a check-up in time because I hardly felt any symptoms.
So if I can pass one message to other women, it would be very simple – don’t be afraid of preventive examinations. Check your cervix at least once a year. Sometimes that alone can save a life. Today I completely trust the doctors and believe that everything will be fine,” V.Rupeikytė shared.
When asked how she feels after the first surgery, Viktorija did not hide her optimism.
“I have almost managed to return to my usual life rhythm, although I recently found out that another surgery awaits me. But I still have time before it, so I try to enjoy everything – summer, loved ones, and simple everyday joys.
I always say that if I can’t change something, I try not to waste my emotions on it, and if I can – I take action. At first, of course, I was a bit scared, but now I have come to terms with it because there is simply no other way. I trust the doctors, believe everything will be fine, and live on – with gratitude and joy for every day,” V.Rupeikytė said.
All the trials only brought the newlyweds closer and reminded them what is most important in life. When asked what she would wish for herself and her family as they enter this new stage of life, she spoke about her dreams.
“Now I especially understand that without it, everything pales. And everything else, I believe, comes through love, friendship, and being together. I would wish for myself and my family to talk more, to hear each other, never lose curiosity for life, and accumulate as many first times together as possible. And also… I would really like to wish us children,” V.Rupeikytė concluded the conversation with Žmonės.lt.
