Latvian border guards turned back 78 migrants on Wednesday, while no attempts to illegally enter the country were recorded at the Polish border on Tuesday.

This year, more than 1,300 illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania. Last year, there were more than 1,600 attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus in unauthorized places, and the year before that, the number was 1,002.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented nearly 26,000 foreigners from illegally entering the country.

The influx of migrants into the eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
