The company’s acquired territory is adjacent to the Klaipėda regional non-hazardous waste landfill. Currently, the companies “Branda” and “Eco Nord” operate there. According to the acquisition agreement, they will use the facility until the end of 2026. Afterwards, “Ecoservice” will take over operations in the area.
“Until now, we have been operating in Klaipėda in the territory on Tilžės St., which limits further development opportunities. In Dumpiai, there will be not only more space but also better working conditions for our team,” says Jurgita Nacevičienė, head of “Ecoservice.”
According to her, the new facility will allow the volume of secondary raw materials and construction waste processing to roughly double.
The company’s investment will increase not only waste management capacity but also create additional jobs. It is planned that “Ecoservice” will hire up to 100 new employees due to this expansion.
Less heavy transport and traffic jams
According to the head of “Ecoservice,” relocating the company’s operations from Tilžės St. in Klaipėda will noticeably improve the daily life of the port city’s residents.
“When we move to Dumpiai, heavy transport traffic in the city area will decrease. So far, packaging waste from the entire region’s municipal flow has been transported specifically to the site on Tilžės Street. Next year, it will be redirected to the new territory,” explained J. Nacevičienė.

According to her, with the reduction of heavy transport flow in the city, traffic jams should also noticeably decrease.
An important change for those living near Dumpiai
According to J. Nacevičienė, when “Ecoservice” starts operations next year in the territory in Dumpiai, significant restructuring and renovations will be undertaken. One of the most important changes is that other companies currently conducting open composting activities in the area will no longer be there.
“We know that local residents associate open composting with unpleasant odors spreading to the surrounding neighborhoods. Therefore, in 2027, after starting our operations at the acquired Dumpiai site, we will dismantle the open composting infrastructure – there will be no composting there,” emphasizes J. Nacevičienė.
This “Ecoservice” investment is not the first in the Klaipėda region. In 2021–2022, the environmental management company allocated nearly 1.5 million euros to renew the specialized transport fleet used here.
