Compared to the first stage last year, the number of league teams increased by a quarter. “I am most pleased that the league is recovering. In Klaipėda, we had more teams than last year, new clubs joined, and a significant number of them also became members of the Lithuanian Tennis Union. Just seeing almost 100 people playing and supporting their teams at the same time was fun. Clubs need such competitions, and our goal is for the league to continue growing,” says league manager Giedrius Židonis.

The league stage held in Klaipėda, according to G. Židonis, stood out for the number of league debutants. Alongside teams that had previously played in the league, “Kogas” and “AceKalūnai” played their first league matches here, while “Dineta Kojotai,” “Setas,” and “Sirena” participated as newly registered LTS clubs.

Final battles – at the end of September in Vilnius

The culmination of the league season that started in Klaipėda will take place on September 26 at the “SEB Arena” in Vilnius. The best-performing teams from Klaipėda will play here, as well as two teams from the highest division.

“The Klaipėda stage showed how club competitions differ from regular individual tournaments. Here, players fight not only for themselves – they represent their club, support their teammates, and this creates a unique atmosphere on the courts. In September at the SEB Arena, we want to raise all this to an even higher level and hold a true club tennis celebration,” says G. Židonis.

The National Tennis Clubs League is a team competition organized by the LTS, intended for the country’s tennis clubs. This year, the league format was updated, and the season consists of two stages. From this season, competition results will count towards the International Tennis Federation (ITF) “World Tennis Number” ranking for participants.
